I will keep this short and sweet. Your child has one opportunity remaining to see the famous sliming of Ms. Bailey. Perhaps you’ve heard of the legendary 2018, 2022, and 2023 slimings. I have offered my pride and hair once again in service of our amazing PTA. Our numbers are a bit low, and I’d like us to hit 220 memberships. We should be able to do that. People often think that joining the PTA means you must run an event. Not true! Our numbers have an impact in Olympia, where legislators use membership to gauge how involved public-school parents are. Our numbers have an impact on the PTA budget, which goes directly to supporting students and staff. If the membership fee is a barrier, you can get a scholarship. Mostly, though, membership means you stand with involved parents and staff to help make this school an amazing place for kids. This organized part of our community is important enough for me to volunteer to be slimed if we hit our membership goal of 220 memberships. Please join the PTA! Finally, in this month of hearts and love, I want to say how much I love this school and its people. It has been the blessing of my life to be here, to see this amazing staff work for children every day, to see our students be so kind, brave, creative and amazing, to walk beneath the waterfalls and feel embraced by the trees. I am in love with all of it. How grateful I am. Kristin Kristin Bailey |

As winter weather approaches, this is a good time to remind our Northshore community about the District’s snow, ice, and hazardous road condition response. The decision to close or delay schools due to inclement weather is made by the District as early as possible, typically by 5:30 a.m. Northshore is a large district that covers over 60 square miles. While conditions may seem normal in your neighborhood, it may be unsafe in others. All of this is taken into consideration when a decision is made to cancel, delay, activate snow routes, or keep everything on a normal schedule. If the district does not make an announcement, it means schools are open and buses are operating normally. For more information please visit the district’s closure and delay webpage. |
